Develop team competencies to ensure that the Washington Mutual finance organization performs at a world-class level
The Result
LDI worked with Washington Mutual to develop a framework for the overall content and implementation of the Finance Organization Talent Development System to provide team members opportunities to develop competencies to establish their success at various levels within the organization.
The Talent Development Plan outlined the following:
- The business and organizational forces driving the need for a talent development system
- The foundation competencies that need to be developed among new employees to make them functioning members of the finance team
- The business competencies that need to be developed among finance personnel at various levels
- Examples of functional competencies specific to various finance departments and positions that need to be developed for effective job performance
- Leadership competencies that define expectations for those individuals who will rise to leadership positions within the organization
- Alternative processes to be used in defining specific functional competencies for each department and/or position within the finance organization
- The recommended structure and content of the talent development system, including recommended developmental experiences for new hires, finance professionals, and emerging leaders
- A preliminary implementation plan indicating the roles and responsibilities within the finance organization for developing and implementing various components of the talent development system
